What is the best way to keep my aligners clean?
I'm sure we no longer need to tell you how important good oral hygiene is. It is also important to clean your aligners properly! During the treatment, aligners are part of your mouth, on which plaque with bacteria forms, just like on your teeth. That's why it's important to include the aligners in your daily routine for a healthy mouth.
Use a soft toothbrush and some toothpaste and brush the aligners every time after you brush your teeth. During the day, you can rinse the aligners with water. After you've eaten or drunk something we recommend that you rinse your mouth with water before putting the aligners back in again. This way you avoid leaving food residues between your teeth.
The aligners come with a number of bags of Cleaning Crystals, which you can use for an extra thorough cleaning. Dissolve the bag of crystals in 100 ml of lukewarm water, stir or shake until the crystals have dissolved. Place the aligners in the cleaning solution for 15 minutes, rinse the aligners thoroughly with water before wearing them again.

Vivera® retainers are made from a proprietary material 30% stronger than other leading clear retainer materials, which helps you to keep your new smile. Your Vivera® retainers will be virtually invisible, and custom-made from a scan of your teeth, using the same state-of-the-art technology used for Invisalign clear aligners.
How does an aligner stay in its place?
Clear aligners are designed to fit snugly around your teeth. Invisalign treatment may require SmartForce® attachments, small tooth-colored shapes that are attached to your teeth. These shapes serve as handles, giving the aligners something to gently push on in order to move your teeth with the right amount of force. These attachments make complex tooth movements possible without braces. Invisalign clear aligners fit smoothly and tightly around them, so they’re barely noticeable.
